Training intensity distribution on running time in amateur endurance runners: a scoping review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Problem: Intensity in endurance training is important for improving race time; its optimal handling amateur runners has not been extensively studied. The polarized intensity distribution (TID) model emerges as a possibility to reduce however, effect of this remains be demonstrated compared other TID models. Objective: objective study explore the current state evidence gaps, according on time Method: A scoping review without date restrictions was carried out PubMed, EBSCO, SciELO, LILACS, and Google Scholar. Randomized controlled studies, quasi-experimental case which comprise time, were include. Results: Five studies evaluated running using models runners; four them did show differences between groups times two, five, ten km. Only one showed significant difference at 21 Conclusions: with models, except report higher by km threshold TID: 1 hour. 20 min. 22 seconds 26 34s, respectively. scarce found, heterogeneity distances zones same TID, duration interventions, monitoring loads, are main limitations found studies. could contribute adherence, lower perception effort, injury prevention. Effect of speed endurance training and reduced training volume on running economy and single muscle fiber adaptations in trained runners

The aim of the present study was to examine whether improved running economy with a period of speed endurance training and reduced training volume could be related to adaptations in specific muscle fibers. Twenty trained male (n = 14) and female (n = 6) runners (maximum oxygen consumption (VO2 -max): 56.4 ± 4.6 mL/min/kg) completed a 40-day intervention with 10 sessions of speed endurance train...

Effects of high intensity training and continuous endurance training on aerobic capacity and body composition in recreationally active runners.

The aim of the study was to examine the effects of two different training programs (high-intensity-training vs. continuous endurance training) on aerobic power and body composition in recreationally active men and women and to test whether or not participants were able to complete a half marathon after the intervention period. Thirty-four recreational endurance runners were randomly assigned ei...

Biochemical, Hormonal and Psychological Monitoring of Eight Weeks Endurance Running Training Program in Female Runners

Athletes improve performance when an optimal balance between training stress and recovery exists. If out of proportion, overtraining syndrome (OTS) can ensue. Currently several biomarkers are used to detect OTS, but none meets all prespecified criteria for definite diagnosis. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of eight week endurance running training program on biochemical,...

Injuries among amateur runners☆

OBJECTIVES To determine the frequency and severity of injuries that affect amateur runners. METHODS This study was conducted by means of a questionnaire applied to 204 amateur runners. Individuals who were under the age of 18 years and those who were unpracticed runners were excluded. The data gathered comprised the number, type, site and degree of severity of the injuries and the individuals...

Impact of different running distances on muscle and lymphocyte DNA damage in amateur marathon runners.

[Purpose] The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of different marathon running distances (10 km, 21 km, and 42.195 km) on muscle and lymphocyte DNA damage in amateur marathon runners. [Subjects and Methods] Thirty male amateur runners were randomly assigned to 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km groups, with 10 subjects in each group. Blood samples were collected before and after the races and...
